SEO - Inhouse of Outsourced?
Just reading some stats about online marketing and SEO.. I started thinking about the market and how many companies are out there actively optiziming their sites for good SEO.. Some of the numbers from Marketing Sherpa’s reports reflect that 74% of the market does their own SEO - same as last years numbers. This means that people in the SEO market for a living are having a hard time finding new clients and the market has not grown in the last year. These people that did keep their SEO inhouse still did well. They saw a 73% lift in traffic. The rest of the market that did outsource showed a 110% lift in traffic.
This study is very broad reaching and does not reflect Toledo’s (my home town) numbers. There are not very many companies in Toledo using SEO tactics that we can see. There is some Google PPC going on but mainly in the real estate and auto markets.
There are huge opportunities for Toledo companies with web site to reach out and capture new business online. We are just starting to see this really start to happen with lead forms on Toledo.com and our customers sites capturing more and more online leads each day.
