Customer Aquisition via Thank You Touch Point

This week we have been thinking about customer acquisition costs. The cost of getting a new customer can be expensive in the online world of commerce. Why not get the most bang for your buck?

So what should you do after you have them? Treat them like kings…..

Last night we were here until about midnight working on “touch-points” to create a re-purchase from our ecommerce clients. We were creating a simple database for a client so they can see all their customers at a glance.

The goal is to create a easy way for our client to send thank you letters and a $5 off coupon to any client that placed an order in January that was under $150. The letter thanks them and does some soft promotions by including a full color $5 off coupon printed on a business card format. It is easy to use, and creating the mailer only takes a few minutes. This ends up being a relatively inexpensive addition to gain return business.

We want the customer experience to pay off a few times over, lower the total customer acquistion costs over time, and build a stronger brand along the way. Clients don’t expect a letter or small gift in the mail. It is a cheap way to soft sell them on making another purchases form us, whether it be for personal use or as a gift.

The sum of all these touch-points makes all the difference in building a growing and profitable online business.

This is working smart instead of hard.
