Just got off the phone with Shop Site. We talked about the use of photos and selling online. Guy is the dude that is the liaison between Shop Site management and developers. Guy mentioned how much he liked Swank Martini and commented about the flash slide show of the images. We spent time developing this because we needed to give people a really good look at the glasses. Our logic went like this: If you are going to shop online, you need to really like the product - you need to trust the images. If the images are fuzzy or compressed wrong you never are going to sell anything. You will not have “trust” from your buyer. If you can’t photograph it right, chances are you sure can’t package it and send it right. When people are shopping online, they need clean, crisp images of the product. They need to see many options photographed. I suggest that you photograph on white background and also do environmental shots. You need to create an atmosphere for your products. Swank has a very upbeat and sexy edge, and the images contribute to this. |
